Nikki Burke - Gymnastics

Nikki has been involved with gymnastics for over 20 years and has been coaching here in lake country and the Okanagan for the pat 8 years. Nikki is certified through gymnastics B.C. and is currently completing her level 2 certification. Nikki has brought her experience and passion to Lake Country Gymnastics this past year, and is excited to pass on her knowledge and love for the sport. Nikki recognizes the value gymnastics has to offer.  She enjoys watching children of all ages excel through the sport, gaining confidence, coordination and skills that will be valuable with all their future activities.  Nikki is a mother of  4 children whom all share her passion for gymnastics.

Christia Langlois - Gymnastics · Circus

Christia Langlois has had a passion for circus and gymnastics since she was a small child in France.

She began training in gymnastics when she was 8, and learned to juggle, to do poi and fire breathing as a young teenager. Christia then attended a circus school in the south of France, and at the age of 17, spent a year in Finland to learn extended circus practices such as “acro yoga” (the modern name). Christia continued to practise both circus and gymnastics in Fontenay-sous-bois, near Paris, and became a certified instructor level 2 in gymnastics and a trained instructor in Active Start.

Christia move to Chile in 2008 where she continued teaching gymnastics in a daycare, inventing and creating equipment. With her husband and children, she moved next to Canada in 2012, and began coaching gymnastics with LCG in 2013. She has since completed the certification level 1 with BC Gymnastics and completed the level 2 training.

Christia’s knowledge and experience in circus arts is a foundation for LCG in their new circus program which includes aerial classes: silk trapeze and hoop, juggling classes, balls, poi, ring, devil sticks, balance: unicycle, slack line, hand standing, acro and more.

Salena Lamb - Director

Salena Lamb has been coaching gymnastics since 1994 and has been teaching acro and early dance with LCSD since 2003. Salena has recently launched Lake Country Gymnastics and is excited to bring her years of experience and passion for coaching to a new full service gymnastic program here in Lake Country. She is certified through Gymnastics B.C. and is currently completing her level 2. What Salena enjoys most about teaching and coaching is building the students’ social and motor skills and, most importantly, their confidence through gymnastics and dance.

Salena has also been actively involved with Pilates for more than 10 years and is certified to teach mat, reformer and chair. She continues to instruct Pilates at a number of Central Okanagan centers, including Rutland Physiotherapy, Bodyz In Motion fitness center, and LCSDG.
